A fiber-based, three dimensional filter design that provides continued blood flow and efficient capture of emboli as small as 40 microns.
The filter consists of a 3-dimensional expandable filter made of hundreds of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) fibers.
The special filter design allows a correct wall apposition even in case of asymmetrical vessels.
It is mounted on a 0.014 wire, with a crossing profile ranging from 1.7 to 2.9 Fr. The filter has the capacity to conform itself to asymmetrical vessels. It fills vasculature ranging from 1.75 to 7.0 mm.
No delivery system is required to advance the undeployed filter through the lesion. A small landing zone (1.5 mm) is required for correctly positioning the filter into the ICA.
The visual confirmation of filter deployment is provided by two radiopaque markers.
The filter is associated with an Xtract aspiration catheter providing a large, single lumen that allows uninterrupted focal suction prior to and during the distal filter retrieval.
The Xtract catheter is available in 4.2, 5-0 and 5.8 Fr.
Debris are captured by the filter fibers as well as by suction through the catheter.
