NEXSTENT

The NexStent Carotid Stent is a laser-cut, nitinol stent with a rolled sheet design that enables one stent size to adapt to multiple diameters in tapered or non-tapered vessel configurations.
Its self-sizing feature is designed to provide the maximum adaptability when treating lesions in the carotid arteries.
Its closed-cell configuration is planned to make the lesion coverage at its best and to provide a smooth inner lumen to facilitate delivery and retrieval of ancillary devices.
As the stent is deployed, it undergoes both uncoiling and cellular expansion due to the mesh design and the properties inherent in the superelastic nature of nitinol.
This special design allows the stent to adapt or self size to arterial diameters between 4 and 9 mm.
The stent is composed of a 30mm length rolled nitinol sheet that is placed in a 5F delivery system.
The length of the stent is 33mm in the delivery system and is approximately 30mm at a fully deployed diameter of 9mm.
The delivery system is a monorail system compatible with standard 0.014" (0.36mm) guidewire.
It has a radiopaque tracking tip to facilitate delivery system tracking through the carotid arterial vasculature.
The stent is located at the distal end of the delivery system catheter between two radiopaque markers.
The stent is deployed by rotating the control knob counter-clockwise, thus retracting the sheath.
The distal end of the sheath opens as it is withdrawn over the stent and the stent gradually expands to meet the vessel wall.
The stent releases from the delivery system and fully expands against the vessel wall when the sheath is retracted beyond the proximal edge of the stent.
