RX ACCUNET
The RX Accunet embolic protection set is based on a delivery system and a
recovery catheter. It presents a 0.014" steerable guidewire (190 or 300 cm in
length) with a filter basket placed on the wire tip that should be modified
according to the vessel anatomy.
The filter has a thin, 115 µm pores polyurethane membrane supported by a
four-wire nitinol basket. The filter is delivered to the target vessel through a
delivery sheath. Once the filter is positioned, the delivery sheath is retracted
by peeling it away from the guidewire to allow full expansion of the filter
basket.
The wire can be torqued independently from the filter basket to facilitate the
navigation in tortuous anatomy.
For a proper positioning of the filter, the vessel distal to the lesion should be
sufficiently long and not excessively tortuous.
The tip of the 3 cm distal retrieval catheter may be shaped as needed to allow
tip deflection and manoeuvres around the stent struts or bends.
Multiple radiopaque markers are present to facilitate the correct deployment of
the filter within the reference vessel: four markers are located on the filter
struts and are visible when the filter is fully open; two markers are placed at
the proximal and distal ends of the filter to make a good visualization easier.
A correct distance between the radiopaque proximal bushing marker and the
distal end of the desired stent position should be maintained to avoid
entanglement on any part of the filter basket during stent deployment.
The filter diameter, ranging between 4.5 and 7.5 mm, should be selected on
the basis of the ICA diameter.
The filter system presents a profile ranging from 3.5 to 3.7 mm according to
the filter size while the retrieval catheter has a 5.5 Fr calibre.
The system is compatible with a 6 Fr guiding catheter.
