Xact
It is a self-expanding nickel-titanium (Nitinol) stent with a close cell design and
a high radial force generated by the variable size of the cells. To prevent tissue
and plaque prolapse smaller unsupported cell areas are designed with dense
scaffolding.
The Xact stent presents a unique variable cell size design to increase the radial
force at the level of the lesion, to reduce radial force at healthy vessel portion,
to increase stent coverage, to minimize plaque extrusion and risk of snagging.
Either straight or tapered stents are commercially available and the two
configurations make possible to get an accurate sizing according to the arterial
morphology.
Stent design allows to have a minimal foreshortening and exceptional crush
resistance.
The stent is pre-loaded on a small profile device (5.7 Fr) with excellent
pushability and trackability that require a minimum 6 Fr introducer sheath or a
8 Fr guiding catheter.
The system designed with a freestyle technology, gives a high stability to the
system and grants an accurate stent placement. Once deployment is initiated
the stent cannot be repositioned or recaptured.
