ZILVER® 518 RX

Zilver® 518™ RX self-expanding stent made of nitinol (nickel-titanium alloy) presents a rapid exchange delivery system.
The special laser-cut pattern of the nitinol tube guarantees high radial force and high flexibility.
The stent is preloaded in a specific rapid-exchange device, 125 cm in length, 5.0 Fr. compatible with 0.018" guidewires.
The correct stent deployment is facilitated by the presence of three radiopaque markers: two placed on both ends of the stent and one on the distal tip of the sheath.
The device is provided with a safety lock to avoid accidental stent release.
A "pin-and-pull" technique, that consists in gently sliding the handle towards the hub, helps the stent be correctly and safely deployed.
During deployment the stent cannot be recovered by the sheath and stent relocation is only possible in a more proximal position.
The Zilver vascular stent is MR compatible and it can be scanned safely under the following conditions: static magnetic field of 3 Tesla or less; spatial gradient field of 720 Gauss/cm or less; maximum whole body averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) of maximum 3.0 W/Kg for 15 minutes of imaging at 3 Tesla.
MR image quality may be compromised by metallic artefacts in the stent area.
